Tesla's Tornado
Tesla going into Rev. 3 preparations. Little has changed on the bot itself, except for new "bot cutters" that have sharpened teeth. (Original chisel edge cutters shown here.)

Claw Hammer (Bot Cutters)
They didn't make it out of heat-treat in time for the last competition, but now I have two styles of bot cutter corners—regular "chisel edge" (the originals), and these claws intended to really gouge the other bot.

Cuts Both Ways
Though not "backed up" as well as the primary edge, the cutters also engage on their secondary edges.

New Laser Remote Control - Back
I had planned to make the new laser remote controller a two-piece design with the lasers mounted on a head piece. Time limitations has forced me to make a simpler one-piece controller.
|
New Laser Remote Control - Front
There are two lasers used - one for the defocused near-infrared illumination and communication, and another red visible spot laser for aiming. There is also a Newton ring sight on top for passive or "stealth" aiming.
|
New Laser Remote Controls
The controls are the same as the earlier LED array controller except for the replacement of the four individual directional buttons with the thumb-operated "top hat" control. Also, a key is required to activate either laser.
