Laser remote guts prior to wiring.
I guess I like lots of blinking light and switches. Notice the two lasers along the top, and their very rigid mounting blocks to hold precise alignment.

New Laser Remote Lasers
Visible on the left, near-infrared (NIR) on the right. What makes the NIR laser special is its ability to be modulated at upwards of 100kHz - a requirement for my PCM communications scheme.

Final sighting laser alignment.
Approx. 10m target distance. The scale is 10cm/division.

The Brightest Remote
I'd wager I have the brightest remote control of all BattleBots. Yes, each light and color means something. Notice the sighting laser on the battery. BTW - The remote does, in fact, work. Not even one wiring mistake—it ran the first time I put power to it.

Aversion Light
I've included an ultra bright red LED positioned between the two lasers. If either laser is energized this LED comes on. It is intended to avert anyone's gaze from the direction of the laser's output.

Last Day in the Lab
The final day of preparation. Several tweeks to the controller logic and timing, but unlike previous pre-competition preps there are no mechanical or major electrical modifications this time. What a relief!
